The Village Church supports several vital ministries and community outreach programs that serve our immediate, local St. Augustine neighborhood. Some other programs we support impact thousands across Northeast Florida and even around the globe. Please review the information below to see if we have a program that can help you and your family. The Village Church
2012 Missions
The following missions will be receiving mission money from the Village Church this year. The Village church is working to be a tithing church. This year we are giving 7% of our budget to missions. The total amount of monies going to these missions is $40.000. This amount does not include special gifts given at the time of a natural disaster or special offerings. It is because of God’s blessings and the faithful giving of our membership that we are able to give beyond ourselves locally and internationally.
Wyldlife is the Middle School ministry of Young Life and The Village Church supports Wyldlife at Pacetti Bay Middle School with finances, staffing, and facilities. The group currently meets on the second and fourth Tuesday of each month and has well over 100 students participating in the program. The Village Church also hosts a Campaigners group for Middle School Boys. Campaigners are the small group ministry of YoungLife. Your support is helping Wyldlife share the Gospel with 16 percent of the school population and Wyldlife leaders are living out the Gospel for 750 students daily at Pacetti Bay! Funded at $5,000
Convinced that the world is changed by dreamers and visionaries, The Foundry serves its community through a commitment to maximize the creative potential in every individual. We are friends, pioneers, misfits, leaders, artists and innovators who want to dream and work together rather than alone in participating in God’s mission in this world. We are from different backgrounds and use different methods in different cultural contexts, but share the same passion to love, serve, and take risks to see others connect and experience the transforming love of God in Jesus. This ministry is to the St. Augustine Beach community. Funded at $3,000
Jeff Tarr Ministries: The Foundry (Above) has as one of its leaders our very own Jeff Tarr. Art, music, performance art, skateboarding, surfing, bible studies, and concerts are just a few of the avenues the foundry uses to create a welcoming atmosphere for people seeking a relationship with Christ. This year we will be supporting Jeff as he strives to answer God’s call on his life into fulltime Christian ministry with the Foundry. Funded at $3,000
Project S.O.S., Inc. is a 501(c) (3) not-for-profit organization that was established by Dr. Pam Mullarkey, Ph.D. in 1993. We are committed to strengthening families by empowering parents and educating youth to make healthy life choices. Over the past sixteen years we have worked diligently to accomplish this mission. Project SOS is active in the community providing educational programs to students in public schools, private schools, churches and juvenile correctional facilities. We also provide resources for parents and teach relationship skills to unwed, expectant couples. In addition to our services we have a wide array of educational tools and products available. Project SOS has a proven track record of effectiveness, having served over 350,000 students since we were established. Funded at $4,000
Good Samaritan Health Center Wildflower Clinic: Located at 268 Herbert Street In St. Augustine, Florida, this clinic provides medical services 2 days a week and dental services 2 days a week for St. Johns County Residents who have no health insurance, Medicare or Medicaid, and earn less than 200% of Federal Poverty guidelines. Staffing includes one paid nurse, volunteer medical personnel and volunteer non-medical personnel. Currently there are 15 physicians, 23 dentist, 6 nurse practitioners, and about 100 non-medical volunteers. The clinic is funded by grants, some monies from the county, several area churches and other contributions. There are volunteer opportunities available. Funded at $6,000
Solomon’s Porch is a response to God calling a family into a life of love and service in Panajachel, Guatemala. Pastor Bob has personally known Lloyd and Melanie Monroe since they were preschoolers in his first church. Lloyd is an attorney and volunteer missionary whose message is this; “We hope to bring the passion of the first century church to those who live in a 21st century world. In Acts 5, Solomon’s Porch is described as a place for the believers to meet and carry out their healing ministries and a sending point for them to take Christ’s message into the world.
With this idea in mind, God is using us to develop a multi-faceted ministry to reach not only the large hurting population of expatriates, but to help mobilize the volunteer teams and individuals who come to minister to the indigenous population as well.

Jaars: is a support ministry specifically to Wycliffe bible Translators. Jaars serves Wycliffe Bible translators and related organizations worldwide by providing transportation by air, land or sea; through computing and information technology; media in local languages; and other vital services. Art Lancaster, a member of our congregation is involved with JAARS. Funded at $1,000
The mission of the Kairos Prison Ministry is to bring Christ’s love and forgiveness to all incarcerated individuals, to their families, to all those who work with them, and to assist the formerly incarcerated as they transition into becoming productive citizens. Pastor Don Nichols currently leads a ten man team from The Village Church that is serving Kairos as laymen. A Kairos weekend consist of 40 hours spent inside a penal institution with up to 48 inmates. Often, the Holy Spirit will convert those who were negative leaders into powerful Evangelist for Christ. The Kairos program has been proven to be successful. Most inmates that complete the program are blessed with God’s peace regardless of their situation. Funded at $1,500.
Sandwich Ministry: The Sandwich Mission or Sandwich Ministry as some call it is a 501(c)(3) Non-Profit non-denominational Christian ministry organization dedicated to Meeting a person's Physical and Spiritual needs, building a Relationship and a Disciple of Christ.
The way in which we go about fulfilling this is through the making of brown bag lunches containing: a sandwich, drink, crackers, dessert, and an all important card with a scripture verse on it. We currently hand these lunches out in the West Augustine area in St. Augustine, Florida.
The vision that God has placed on our hearts is to meet a person where they are at and meet their physical needs. Through the building of trust, a person then opens the door to let us minister to their spiritual needs. Over time we invest in those relationships to the point of building them up in their walk with Jesus Christ and teaching them His Word. We are teaching them the importance of being part of a church body, and assisting them in discovering the blessings and gifts God has given to them. We then encourage them to use that gift to serve along side of us in the Body of Christ. Our church provides and makes sandwiches twice a month. Funded at $2,000
The Fellowship of Christian Athletes is touching millions of lives... one heart at a time. Since 1954, the Fellowship of Christian Athletes has been challenging coaches and athletes on the professional, college, high school, junior high and youth levels to use the powerful medium of athletics to impact the world for Jesus Christ. FCA is the largest Christian sports organization in America. FCA focuses on serving local communities by equipping, empowering and encouraging people to make a difference for Christ. Our support goes to Justin Black, the local FCA representative who is working with Pacetti Bay middle School. Funded at $1,000.
Gospel Lighters Prison Ministry Gospel Lighters, Inc. is based in St. Augustine, Florida and was founded by Reverend Arlo "Butch" Smith. It is our desire to reach out to all the men in the prisons throughout Florida and to their families, and to let them know that God loves them and is looking to forgive them and give them back their heart, their hope, their lives. Gospel Lighters commitment is to walk beside prisoners through the various stages of their new walk with Christ. We start by visiting with them inside prison, ministering to them as they learn new values based on the life and teaching of Christ and as they learn how to apply them in their daily lives. Funded at $1,000
Haven Horse Ranch, a non profit organization, uses horses to teach children basic life's principles. As well as learning how to safely have fun with one of God’s creatures. We provide camps, clinics, retreats, and lesson programs. We also do trail rides, on-site, on our 26 acre property. We are the largest equine-assisted therapy center in Northeast Florida, working with those who suffer from many physical and mental disabilities. We host group functions as well. Bring your classroom, youth group or office staff out for some team building or just for fun! We are limited only by our creativity.

The Homeless Coalition’s transitional Housing is the completion of a process which guides homeless people into permanent housing. The program requires the clients to seek job training, employment, continuing education, assessment counseling and permanent housing. Almost without exception, when the clients leave the program, they are moving into their own apartments. ESHC's mission is to truly make a difference in the lives of homeless families by providing the opportunity for them to remain intact, stabilize their lives, save towards affordable permanent housing, and break the cycle of homelessness and poverty. Funded at $1,000
Betty Griffin House. In July 1990, a group of concerned citizens incorporated as Safety Shelter of St. Johns County, with the goal of eventually opening a shelter for local victims of domestic violence and their children. In 1992, we contracted with a local motel for space and started a 24-hour crisis line and court advocacy. In 1993, we purchased and converted a home for shelter purposes. Betty Griffin House opened it's doors on January 24, 1994. In 1998, we expanded the building to meet the increasing local demand for shelter. A Board of Directors comprised of diverse community members provides oversight of shelter functions and outreach services. Dedicated Volunteers log extensive hours of client support services. BGH staff includes: Executive Director, Director of Shelter Services, Case Managers, Children's Coordinator, Shelter Advocates, Adult and Child Therapists, Community Educator, Sexual Assault Program Coordinator and Advocate, Court Advocates, Outreach Specialists, Development Coordinator, Administrative Coordinator, and Administrative Assistant.
Confidential individual and group counseling is available in all parts of the county for women, men and children. Our Batterers Intervention Programs offer counseling to male and female abusers either as voluntary participants or as referrals from public and private service providers. We conduct regular domestic and sexual violence trainings throughout the county, as well as age-appropriate violence prevention trainings in the schools.

Through education, service, and reflection, Florida Alternative Breaks provides members the opportunity to immerse themselves in a particular social issue. We seek to heighten social awareness through regional and international trips during academic breaks. College Ministry Support for groups coming into our area to do mission work during college breaks. This Year we have a group coming from The University of Florida to work for 3 days at the new Veterans Nursing Home on State Rd. 16.

Second Harvest Foodbank of St. Johns County: Collections are made monthly on the First Sunday of each month. The “Item for the Month” is announced and listed in the bulletin. The St. Johns County food bank uses our donations of food to feed the needy, elderly, children, and homeless in our area. In 2011, the members of The Village Church donated 4,223 pounds of food!!
Founded in 1950, World Vision is a Christian humanitarian organization dedicated to working with children, families, and their communities worldwide to reach their full potential by tackling the causes of poverty and injustice. World Vision serves close to 100 million people in nearly 100 countries around the world. Among the millions of people served by World Vision include earthquake and hurricane survivors, abandoned and exploited children, survivors of famine and civil war, refugees, and children and families in communities devastated by AIDS in Africa, Asia, and Latin America. Your donations to World Vision supporting our students’ annual 30 Hour Famine go toward providing water and resources to help tackle the problem of world hunger, which takes the life of a child every seven seconds. In 2010, you helped our youth raise $1,686 for World Vision and they also sponsor a child in Peru through World Vision. Funded through donations
The Jacksonville Ronald McDonald House is the cornerstone program of Ronald McDonald House Charities® of Jacksonville. The 30-bedroom facility offers lodging and other support services for families with critically ill, chronically ill or seriously injured children being treated in Jacksonville. Since 1988, the House has served more than 29,500 families. The services provided to families staying at the House help to reduce the amount of stress placed upon them while their child is undergoing medical care. Families are kept together and close to the hospital in an environment that supports their physical and emotional needs. Collecting pop tabs is a great way for everyone to get involved in fundraising for the Ronald McDonald House, and your collections help raise over $5,000 each year. For over 40 years, Samaritan's Purse has done our utmost to follow Christ's command by going to the aid of the world's poor, sick, and suffering. We are an effective means of reaching hurting people in countries around the world with food, medicine, and other assistance in the Name of Jesus Christ. This, in turn, earns us a hearing for the Gospel, the Good News of eternal life through Jesus Christ.
Our emergency relief programs provide desperately needed assistance to victims of natural disaster, war, disease, and famine. As we offer food, water, and temporary shelter, we meet critical needs and give people a chance to rebuild their lives.
Our community development and vocational programs in impoverished villages and neighborhoods help people break the cycle of poverty and give them hope for a better tomorrow.
We impact the lives of vulnerable children through educational, feeding, clothing, and shelter programs that let them know they are not forgotten.
We provide first-class treatment in the Name of the Great Physician through our medical projects, as well as supplying mission hospitals with much needed equipment and supplies.
In November of each year we collect boxes for Operation Christmas Child, a ministry of Samaritan’s purse. Our church is a relay center as well for North East St. Johns County.

Timothy Fund: This fund will be set up within the Village Church to be used as scholarship money for men and women within our church who desire to go to Seminary.
This fund is generated by the remainder of Mission Monies not dispersed. This scholarship fund currently has a cumulative value of $7,569
